Henshue.jpg . Nick Henshue earned his Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Education from Slippery Rock University and his Masters in Ecology from [East Stroudsburg University]. Before he received his Doctorate in [Ecology and Evolution at Rutgers University] under [Dr. Claus Holzapfel,] Nick taught high school Environmental Science for 10 years. He has taken students camping, studying, and trekking all over the United States, Wales, Canada, and Costa Rica. His 2010 book, titled "[The Essential Species of Pennsylvania]" is a brief field guide to the Keystone State's most common species. In addition to teaching and advising students at the [University at Buffalo], he researches [[[earthworm]] biogeography], genetics, and using them to clean up polluted soils. Dr. Henshue also hosts the podcast "EcologyU", an intimate look at some of the most fascinating research in ecology and the stories behind it. Nick's research interests include restoration, earthworms, ecology, climate, science outreach, and helping teachers teach amazing science.
